The hotel has 2 types of rooms for simplicity, with 47 superior rooms and 20 deluxe family rooms.

The contemporary superior rooms are designed with light, soft colours and furnishings, reflecting a fresh and tropical ambience. All the main beds are orthopedic in design for correct spinal alignment and so are good for travellers with sensitive backs. Every room also has a long sofa.

With 20 deluxe family rooms, the hotel is perhaps the largest family hotel in Bali. Each room is 55 m² and can comfortably accommodate up to 2 adults and 3 children (aged 10 or below).

A surcharge applies if there are more than 2 people, and the extra persons are more than 10 years of age.

Haiti fundraiser in Phuket tonight

The Phuket Chapter of the Thai Red Cross Society is holding a large fundraiser for victims of the Haitian earthquake in Patong tonight.

There are performers from Phuket FantaSea and Simon Cabaret will take to a stage set up by the beach at Loma Park. The show begins from 6pm until midnight. In that show also there will also be a fashion show staged by the local chapter of the Business and Professional Woman’s Association of Thailand and other entertainment. Besides, there will be also a booth selling T-shirts will be set up to raise money for the relief effort in Haiti, where at least 170,000 lives were lost in the January 12 earthquake.

Moreover, in Phuket Town today, students from local schools could be seen collecting donations in front of local businesses. The proceeds will be turned over tonight to the Phuket Chapter of the Thai Red Cross, which is chaired by Thaisika Praisa-ngop, wife of provincial governor Wichai Phraisa-ngop. Gov Wichai will announce the total amount raised at the end of the night.

Among donations already handed over to the Red Cross were 60,000 baht from Satree Phuket School and 100,000 baht from the Kusoldharrm Foundation, which runs a network of volunteer rescue workers on the island. Then, for those who want to watch the event, it will be broadcast live on NBT Channel 11 and Radio Thailand from 9pm to midnight.

Hundred of Alcoholic Drink Destroyed

Both Sukadani and Rubita convicted guilty for violating Section 4 number 1 and section 14 regional law Number 6 Years 2007 about Alcoholic Drink Control. Sukadani sentenced with one million rupiah of fee and ten days in jail optional whilst Rubita sentenced lighter with 750 thousands of fee and 7 days confinement option.

The annihilation of alcoholic drink was conducted by Jembrana regent, I Gede Winasa together with other government officials in front of Jembrana’ Regent Office. Kasat Pol PP Jembrana, I Ketut Wiratma mentioned that hundred of alcoholic drinks that destroyed was part of his members operation result in maintaining regional regulation in Jembrana.

“Of course we will participate in a competition but if we do not pass the selection round then we just parade it around the village,” he added.

He suspected that those climbers who were the member of Mapala STIE Bandung gone missing on the Mount Agung after felt into the deep ravine.

“Lots of climbers, who felt to the ravine, end with their corpses nowhere to be found. Those climbers usually people who did not accompanied with guidance,” he said.

Therefore, Sudarsana urged for the tourists for a while canceling their plan climbing Mount Agung.

“If they want to climb, it will be better if they accompanied by guidance who has been familiar with climbing and down the track in Mount Agung,” he said.

Badan Meteorologi Klimatologi dan Geofisika (BMKG) – Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Department – Territory III Denpasar issued warning to the maritime tourism agent in Bali to take alert with the wave with 3-5 meter height along Bali coastal. That big wave happened as the effect of tropical storm.

According to the BMKG Territory III Denpasar prediction, the big wave along with vast wind will happened in the middle of February until the end of the month.

Head of BMKG Data and Information Division III Denpasar, Endro Tjahjono in his statement in Denpasar on Monday (8th February) confessed that the big wave along with the vast wind that will happened fear would disrupt crossing activity at ports in Bali.

“Depend on the tropical storm activity, if the wave will be more than two and a half meter height then ASDP party will forbid any crossing activity to take place in the first place,” said Endro Tjahjono.

According to him, those towers demilition based on the absence of Izin Mendirikan Bangunan (IMB) – Building Establishment Authorization – under the Province Bill Number 4/PD/DPRD/1974 about building, it is feared could bring negative impact for Bali as well as public service continuity and the stability of local security.

According to Gatot, the same rule also did not regulate any obligation for them to have IMB in developing telecommunication tower. The letter will become the second one send by the Minister of Communication and Information since Minister Mohammad Nuh had sent a letter once around last year related to the same issue.

“Especially for the recent letter, the substance is far more serious and with a very special management, it was due to that last meeting on February 1st 2010, besides Commission 1 DPR there was also The Minister of Communication and Information. Badung Transportation, communication and Information Agency denied the news that Badung accepted a letter from the Minister of Internal Affair on December 2009 regarding the cancelation of that regional regulation.

This, as been asserted by the head of Badung Transportation, Communication and Information Agency, I Made Sutama when NusaBali met him on Monday (February 8), that letter merely about revision not cancelation. Whilst considering tower demolition, Sutama excused that there is none concerning building in Badung regional regulation No. 4/1974.

“There is a letter from central but it was not about cancelation. Still, we will keep conducting demolition here. It has no influence at all since the regulation is not based on regional but provincial regulation,” as Sutama eluded.

Moreover, Sutama said that the letter from the Minister of Internal Affair will has their concern. Yet, Sutama averted that the letter would not canceling or pulling Badung Council initiative considering tower demolition. Sutama said that his party will reconsider points reputed to against the rules above it.

“We would not cancel it but will revise some points that are considers as deviation,” said Sutama who is reluctant to tell which points that are considers as deviations from the central regulation.

Blue Bird Group Vice President, Noni Purnomo asserted that PT Praja Bali Transportasi does not violating Minister of Transportation Decree Number 35 years 2003 concerning the inclusion of company name and logo at the front door of the taxis. It is due to none of the taxis front doors that contain Blue Bird name on it as what was mentioned in that warning letter. At that front doors also there were merely the name Bali Taksi as the logo of PT Praja Bali Transportasi with bird picture. That statement conveyed on Wednesday (February 3) yesterday in relation with the warning letter sent by the head of Bali Transportation, Information and Communication Agency, Made Santa.

She said that his party never imprinted Blue Bird name at the front door of the taxis as been mentioned in that warning letter. The imprinted logo at that front door actually Bali Taksi which is belong to PT Praja Bali Transportasi with bird picture on it.

She quoted Minister of Transportation decree No. 35/2003 regarding the inclusion of company’s name and logo at the front door of the taxis whilst Blue Bird name confessed imprinted at the front door precisely in the middle of it. That Minister regulation in one hand is still unclear makes the warning letter was not suitable with the fact on the field.

In the warning letter Number 55/1689/DPIK dated February 1, 2010 from Head of Bali Transportation, Information and communication, Made Santa asserted, mentioned that PT Praja Bali Transportasi had operated taxi fleet was considering as out of provision Bill No 29 section 3C of Transportation Minister Decree No. 35 years 2003. In Regard with the company’s name and logo imprinted on it was the word “Blue Bird” instead of the name and logo from PT Praja Bali Transportasi in accordance with the registered operation authorization owner.

Noni Purnomo explained logo imprinted was PT Praja Bali Transportasi logo with Bali Taksi name on it. Bali Taksi is a taxi company managed by Blue Bird Group under the name of PT Praja Bali Transportasi company under the authorization of Bali Governor as The Head of Bali Province Number 551.21/4570/Bina Ek dated April 19, 2004. Meanwhile for the logo itself had been patented on March 14, 2008 as PT Praja Bali Transportasi logo.

In term of Bali Taksi relationship with Blue Bird Group, he stated that PT Praja Bali Transportasi received an authorization from Blue Bird co. to use Blue Bird Group identity and operated by Blue Bird Group. So Bali Taksi operational is conducted by Blue Bird management.

Thus, the management operational system starting from recruitment, training, operational, service quality as well as information technology utilization, vehicle maintenance, prosperity until driver facility (including uniform) the same with all Blue Bird around Indonesia. Information and Communication Agency of Bali province reminded tourists and most people not to come to Bali when Hindus in this island celebrated their Nyepi Day or in other word is celebrationg 1932 Saka New Year on Tuesday, March 16, 2010.

“If want to go to Bali it is suggested to advance it or delayed the visiting schedule to the Island of God,” said head of Transportation, Information and Communication Bali Province, I Made Santha in Denpasar on Tuesday.

He said the warning distribution had been conducted far before Nyepi celebrated so either national or international community would not come when the Nyepi holy celebration held in Bali.

Thus, hoped for people inside or outside the country would not find any difficulties when they get stopped at Bali entrance gate.

“All entrance gate into Bali, at Ngurah Rai Airport as well as the fourth ports will not work due to the 24 hours break for all fleet,” said Made Santha.

Technically the act of surveillance of this forest zero visit program, added Winasa, will keep entrance gate points guard by Satpol PP officers – Police Civil Service – village members, members of subak who live side by side with the forest.

“Each point will be guarded by two satpol PP officers, one village member, one official village member and one subak member who has duty to watch over Jembrana forest for 24 hours,” he explained. Second annual of Phuket Film Festival is set to take place on the island in June. The event that will be held from June 4 to 13 is hope by the organizers to be bigger and better than the last festival in 2007.
In that debut festival, the seven day celebration was screening 40 films from 15 different countries, attracting a crowd of more than 3.600 people to Phuket theaters. In 2008, the festival went on hiatus, aiming to return in 2009. But, the volatile political situation in Thailand that year forced the organizers to cancel.

“The Cannes International Film Festival historically had a rocky three-to-four-year start and while we don’t want to emulate them, we sure do want to grow up to be like them,” said Scott Rosenberg, director of the Phuket filmfest. The organizers recently released a Call for Entries.

Filmmakers are invited to submit ‘screeners’ of features, documentaries, shorts and animations for possible screenings at the event. Preference will be given to award-winning filmmakers and world or Asian premiers. The 2010 Festival expects to screen about 30 to 40 films. Submissions will be accepted until April 30, 2010. There is a fee of US$50 for each submission.

Thousand of wild monkeys lived at Bebukitan in Pesedehan Village of Manggis District Karangasem since the last few years destructed local farmers’ activity. None of the plant could grow.

“It’s hard to chase them away since its huge numbers and they also packed the hill,” he said.

5. Paiton, East Java with a capacity of 1x660 MW targeted its commercial operation in June 2010.

While for 4 out of Java power plant that will operate this year, namely :

1. PLTU Tanjung Balai Karimun, Riau Islands, with a capacity of 2x7 MW, for unit 1 of 7 MW will enter into the electricity system in November 2010, while 2 new units in commercial operation in January 2011.

2. PLTU New Bangka, Bangka Belitung with a capacity of 2x30 MW, where the unit 1 (30 MW) will be operating commercially in November 2010 and Unit 2 (30 MW) in January 2011.

3. PLTU Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, with a capacity of 2x10 MW, where the unit 1 (10 MW) will be operating commercially in December 2010, while Unit 2 (10 MW) will be operational in February 2011.

4. PLTU ENDE, East Nusa Tenggara with a capacity of 2x7 MW, where the unit 1 (7 MW) will operate commercially in October 2010 and unit 2 (7 MW) at December 2010.
