Denmark Main Spot; Denpasar ISI Team

Gamelan art team from Insitut Seni Indonesia Denpasar – Indonesia Art Institute – became the spot of attention in international music festival held at Copenhagen Denmark.

Rector ISI Denpasar, Prof. Dr I Wayan Rai, S, MA., in his press conference with ANTARA on Wednesday mentioned that spot of attention received by ISI team proved by the situation of his team in that festival was in the middle of other teams.

“ISI Denpasar team performed on February 3rd under 70C weather. Our team in this festival was Asia delegation and collaborated with other arts worldwide, ” he said.

Rai confessed, ISI Denpasar could proud of being the spot of attention from world class musicians with such high skill that will give them varied of experience and benefits especially for the students.

“The could interact with world class musicians. Our participation in that event also in order to promote ISI Denpasar, especially Bali and Indonesia in general,” he said.

ISI in this occasion also received a chance to participate in parade at Copenhagen by performing Cak Dance. Besides, ISI Denpasar also invited to give speech and workshop material together with lectures and students from “The Royal Denish Academy of Music” Copenhagen.

“This visiting also become the continuation of MoU signing plan between ISI Denpasar with The Royal Denish Academy of Music that is a famous conservatory in the world. Possible cooperation could intertwined is lecture or student exchange, together research as well as art collaboration,” he said.

The group led by ISI Denpasar rector left on January 27th will be back into Indonesia on February 9, 2010.

Blue Bird and Transportation Minister Decree

Blue Bird Group Vice President, Noni Purnomo asserted that PT Praja Bali Transportasi does not violating Minister of Transportation Decree Number 35 years 2003 concerning the inclusion of company name and logo at the front door of the taxis. It is due to none of the taxis front doors that contain Blue Bird name on it as what was mentioned in that warning letter. At that front doors also there were merely the name Bali Taksi as the logo of PT Praja Bali Transportasi with bird picture. That statement conveyed on Wednesday (February 3) yesterday in relation with the warning letter sent by the head of Bali Transportation, Information and Communication Agency, Made Santa.

She said that his party never imprinted Blue Bird name at the front door of the taxis as been mentioned in that warning letter. The imprinted logo at that front door actually Bali Taksi which is belong to PT Praja Bali Transportasi with bird picture on it.

She quoted Minister of Transportation decree No. 35/2003 regarding the inclusion of company’s name and logo at the front door of the taxis whilst Blue Bird name confessed imprinted at the front door precisely in the middle of it. That Minister regulation in one hand is still unclear makes the warning letter was not suitable with the fact on the field.

In the warning letter Number 55/1689/DPIK dated February 1, 2010 from Head of Bali Transportation, Information and communication, Made Santa asserted, mentioned that PT Praja Bali Transportasi had operated taxi fleet was considering as out of provision Bill No 29 section 3C of Transportation Minister Decree No. 35 years 2003. In Regard with the company’s name and logo imprinted on it was the word “Blue Bird” instead of the name and logo from PT Praja Bali Transportasi in accordance with the registered operation authorization owner.

Noni Purnomo explained logo imprinted was PT Praja Bali Transportasi logo with Bali Taksi name on it. Bali Taksi is a taxi company managed by Blue Bird Group under the name of PT Praja Bali Transportasi company under the authorization of Bali Governor as The Head of Bali Province Number 551.21/4570/Bina Ek dated April 19, 2004. Meanwhile for the logo itself had been patented on March 14, 2008 as PT Praja Bali Transportasi logo.

In term of Bali Taksi relationship with Blue Bird Group, he stated that PT Praja Bali Transportasi received an authorization from Blue Bird co. to use Blue Bird Group identity and operated by Blue Bird Group. So Bali Taksi operational is conducted by Blue Bird management.

Thus, the management operational system starting from recruitment, training, operational, service quality as well as information technology utilization, vehicle maintenance, prosperity until driver facility (including uniform) the same with all Blue Bird around Indonesia. That is why Blue Bird name keep imprinted at the other side of the taxi such as at the front or the back of taxi glass, makes the company did not violating Minister decree. “That decree merely regulated company logo and name at the front door precisely in the middle position of it, then there is no regulation concerning the rest of it,” she asserted.

PT Praja Bali Transportasi gained fare-meter addition for their taxi service principal authorization for about 500 units in 2008. But that merely realized 250 units in 2009. Meanwhile the number of fleet they have in Bali Taksi had reached 750 units with drivers recruited from Balinese itself. Nowadays their driver number reached 1.500 people.

Accommodating Local Agriculture Products

Bali Industry and Trading Agency considers to obligate hotels and restaurants in Bali used local agriculture product in fulfilling their daily needs for meat, vegetables and fruits.

Hotel and restaurant management in Bali even expected to utilize 30-50 percent of local agriculture product to fulfill their daily needs.

Head of Bali Industry and Trading Agency, Bali Gde Darmadja in his statement at Renon (February 3) confessed this plan is actually in order to raise local agriculture product. Besides, that policy also aimed in giving assistance as well as protection to the farmer in the middle of import agriculture product due to the free trade.

Gde Darmadja admitted problems’ concerning agricultural products was the government and farmers fault that is still could not providing sustainable supply for hotels and restaurants in Bali. “If its season comes then the supply will be more than enough, but it will difficult if it was not the season for certain plants, and then our challenge is to supply it continuously,” assessed Gde Darmaja.

Head of Bali Industry and Trading Agency, Gde Darmadja declared that he also asked for chance given to the local agricultural products entering supermarket and hypermarket in Bali. Moreover, Gde Darmaja also said other task followed this program was the raising of local products quality, concerning that problem, the government in Bali also should promulgating the development of organic agriculture program.

No Bali in Nyepi

Information and Communication Agency of Bali province reminded tourists and most people not to come to Bali when Hindus in this island celebrated their Nyepi Day or in other word is celebrationg 1932 Saka New Year on Tuesday, March 16, 2010.

“If want to go to Bali it is suggested to advance it or delayed the visiting schedule to the Island of God,” said head of Transportation, Information and Communication Bali Province, I Made Santha in Denpasar on Tuesday.

He said the warning distribution had been conducted far before Nyepi celebrated so either national or international community would not come when the Nyepi holy celebration held in Bali.

Thus, hoped for people inside or outside the country would not find any difficulties when they get stopped at Bali entrance gate.

“All entrance gate into Bali, at Ngurah Rai Airport as well as the fourth ports will not work due to the 24 hours break for all fleet,” said Made Santha.

Besides Ngurah Rai Airport, other four ports such as Gilimanuk Port, Padangbai, Benoa and Celukan Bawang Port will not work at all.

That is the reason for Bali Governor; Mangku Pastika sent letters for four cabinet minister concerning the closing of all Bali’s entrance gates.

According to the letter dated December 29, 2009 sent to the Minister of Transportation, Minister of Foreign Affair, Minister of Domestic Affair and Minister of Communication and Information, with several copies for 30 related institutions in Bali.

At that time, Hindu confined themselves inside the house to conduct “Tapa Brata Penyepian” – Five ways for Nyepi implementation – covering “amati geni” (no fire), “amati karya” (no work), “amati lelungan” (no traveling) and “amati lelanguan” (no having fun).

Forest Revitalization

Destruction tens of thousands hectares Jembrana forest actually make Jembrana Regent, I Gede Winasa angry. This number on man in that regency decided to revitalize forest’ zero visit program and mobilize some officers in several forest entrance gate.

“Forest problem is a very basic problem that should be solve immediately and need bendesa desa pakraman – village official members – involvement as they lived beside the forest itself,” said Winasa when give his speech at Jimbarwana Meeting Room on Tuesday (February 2).

To intensify forest security, Winasa revitalize forest zero visit program with the involvement of traditional institution. This revitalization program conducted merely because there has been billion of fund spends to overcome problems in forest but none of it gives any result.

“With this program, no one would allow going in or out the forest,” he assessed. With this policy, Winasa asked for Bendesa to obey the regulation which has been made under awig-awig – traditional rule –
“Regualtion without act will remain an empty shell,” he said. Technically the act of surveillance of this forest zero visit program, added Winasa, will keep entrance gate points guard by Satpol PP officers – Police Civil Service – village members, members of subak who live side by side with the forest.

“Each point will be guarded by two satpol PP officers, one village member, one official village member and one subak member who has duty to watch over Jembrana forest for 24 hours,” he explained. If latter in the that surveillance period they found any illegal logging take place, Winasa ask for the post guardian to report it immediately to base camp through the communication tool provided.

“In half an hour, base camp officers should have been on the location,” he said. For an experiment, said Winasa, his party will prepare six points for guardian posts spreads in all Jembrana districts.
“We will begin from the next Monday. If no one entering the forest then it will become a forest once again naturally. In this program merely animals allowed to entering the forest,” he assessed.

Not only that, Winasa also threatened will isolating village who get penetrated by the thief up to three times. “Three times is still forgiven be sending them warn letter. The fourth time, bendesa salary will be stopped and that village will be isolated from any form of assistance. This regulation also prevailed to the subak member,” he affirmed.

Winasa invite all villages bendesa to be brave and sentenced the culprit as well as bring the perpetrator to the court. “If there is no courage from those special officer to execute the perpetrator responsible for forest destruction and bring them under the Bill No 41/1999, billion of people money will get thrown,” said Winasa.

Besides punish those who guilty, Winasa also promised Rp 1 million for whoever could arrested the timber thieves.
