Hundred of Alcoholic Drink Destroyed

After having static law, hundreds of bottles of alcoholic drinks destroyed. Meanwhile for the owner of those drinks, Ni Nyoman Sukadani and I Nyoman Rubita sentenced with fine as well as confinement option.

After seized by the civil service police force on Monday (January 25) due to the illegal sales of alcoholic drink B level with 14.7 percent alcohol level found at Terus Jaya shop owned by Ni Nyoman Sukadani as the citizen of East Loloan District in Jembrana and at I Nyoman Rubita wholesale, the citizen of Baler Bale Agung Jembrana. All of that alcoholic drinks destroyed on Wednesday (February 10) followed the verdict from Negara’ high court.

Both Sukadani and Rubita convicted guilty for violating Section 4 number 1 and section 14 regional law Number 6 Years 2007 about Alcoholic Drink Control. Sukadani sentenced with one million rupiah of fee and ten days in jail optional whilst Rubita sentenced lighter with 750 thousands of fee and 7 days confinement option.

The annihilation of alcoholic drink was conducted by Jembrana regent, I Gede Winasa together with other government officials in front of Jembrana’ Regent Office. Kasat Pol PP Jembrana, I Ketut Wiratma mentioned that hundred of alcoholic drinks that destroyed was part of his members operation result in maintaining regional regulation in Jembrana.

“Alcoholic Drinks annihilation for was the first time done by the Civil Service Police force,” said Wiratma. Meanwhile, Winasa mentioned that this kind of operation is not enough if merely conducted by the police officers, the Civil Service Police Officers is very possible to do that since they have role in maintaining regional regulation.

“If there are people who violated this rule then they have the authorization to conduct something,” he said. Winasa confess that he could not stop the producer but simply control it. “We could not stop the producer of this kind of drink but we could control it with checked the regulation and authorization,” as he asserted.

The annihilation done through hit the bottle one by one with hammer which was initiated by Winasa together with other Jembrana officials. The alcohol liquid overflow to the street was sting.

Ogoh Ogoh Fund Freezes

Rp 3.5 million fund from the capitol city government for every sekaa teruna teruni (STT) – youth organization in each of village traditional area division or known as banjar – in Denpasar precisely is not distributed for the making of ogoh-ogoh – giant sculpture in a monster appearance for parade one day before the Silent Day –

Ogoh-ogoh makers always collect fund from the people every day. Averagely they could collect around 30 thousand Rupiah per day. He estimated that they could spend around Rp 500 thousands only for a small ogoh-ogoh.

“Of course we will participate in a competition but if we do not pass the selection round then we just parade it around the village,” he added.

Another citizen confessed that even though they used capitol fund still, the making of ogoh-ogoh need more than Rp 3.5 million. That is why they keep collecting fund from the people. “If not from the people fund, we could not find any option to finish ogoh-ogoh,” said that person.

This people’s fund collecting that sometimes makes the citizen nervous. Usually people who did not give some fund will receive ‘terror’ when Nyepi comes such as their roof been thrown by stranger.

Responded toward this problem, the head of Public Relationship and Protocol Division of Denpasar Regional Secretariat, Made Erwin Suryadarma Sena confessed that their party will coordinating it with adat officials – Balinese traditional officials – “This is what we called as adat territory, thus make us have to coordinate it straightly with the recent adat institution,” said Erwin on Monday (8th February).

Related with the fund given by the capitol city government, Erwin asserted that it should not have for the making of ogoh-ogoh. We could take an example from Renon Pakraman Village that never allowed the making of ogoh-ogoh but they receive the fund too. For the utilization of that fund, the government never obligated it for the making of ogoh-ogoh.

“That funds merely a stimulus. Instead of ogoh-ogoh, they could used it for other shape of creaticity,” said Erwin firmly.

Then, in order to make the post-functional literacy run smoothly, this program will be supported by 6.370 college students to teach 21.000 people as their college fulfillment task which make everything much more economic since the students need no money in fulfilling this task.

Tourists Suggested not to climb Mount Agung

Security officers and tourisms guidance who stand by at the Mount Agung climbing post in Besakih of Karangasem Regency Bali had suggested for the tourists not to climb the mountain in this recent days.

This suggestion is due to the bad weather happened lately.

“Hard rain along with vast wind that keeps to be happened is very dangerous for climbing activity in every track in that highest mountain in Bali,” said Nyoman Sudarsana as a member of Kelompok Pemandu Wisata Kebut Gunung (KPWKG) Agung – Group of Mount Agung Racing Guidance – when contacted from Denpasar on Tuesday.

Mountain tourism guidance that got incorporated with Basarda Bali find himself help SAR team frequently to find the climber who get lost on that mountain, he mentioned that almost none of save route can be go through when bad weather happened.

In relation with that, Sudarsana and other guidance also wish for the climber to delay their climbing activity on Mount Agung concerning the very bad weather which may happen.

Some tourism guidance confessed that they had rejected to accompany the tourists to clime regarding the bad weather happened recently. Although, according to Made Suena, there is other tourists who try to climb the mountain without “mountain race” guidance companion with them.

“This that usually attract dangerous,” said Suena while adding that there were lot of climber who dead or gone missing when climb Mount Agung in the middle of bad weather.

Sudarsana confessed that he got involved with SAR to find three climbers from Bandung West Java who got lost in Mount Agung several years ago. From those three only one had been found and he already dead.

They are Mohamad Iqbal (22) who found dead and the other two were Eko Saputro Sudirman (21) and Indah Safitri (21) whom until today still nowhere to be found.

He suspected that those climbers who were the member of Mapala STIE Bandung gone missing on the Mount Agung after felt into the deep ravine.

“Lots of climbers, who felt to the ravine, end with their corpses nowhere to be found. Those climbers usually people who did not accompanied with guidance,” he said.

Therefore, Sudarsana urged for the tourists for a while canceling their plan climbing Mount Agung.

“If they want to climb, it will be better if they accompanied by guidance who has been familiar with climbing and down the track in Mount Agung,” he said.
